Bellroy vs Ridge: Hide & Seek LO or Gunmetal Wallet?
The Hide & Seek LO is a leather billfold with separate card positions and flat-note storage. The current Ridge Gunmetal is an aluminium card stack with cash held outside it. Their layouts matter more than a universal winner.
Our recommendation
Choose Bellroy if you use cash often and want distinct card slots. Choose Ridge if you mainly carry cards and prefer a rigid case with replaceable components. Ridge is included as an alternative to leather, not as a leather wallet.

Check before buying: The lining and card-slot construction need inspection as the wallet wears. Capacity is a manufacturer claim, not proof that twelve cards will feel slim in your pocket.

Choose an access method you will use comfortably
With Bellroy, you open the wallet and select a card from its slot or storage section. With Ridge, the cards share a stack. Try reaching a middle card while holding a bag or standing at a counter; a small footprint does not automatically mean easier access.
Bellroy encloses banknotes in the fold. Ridge keeps folded notes under a strap or clip. If you handle several cash transactions each day, unfolding and reloading notes may be a larger inconvenience than the space saved.
Ridge’s purchase date and seller change the cover
Ridge’s checked policy gives eligible wallet purchases from October 14, 2025 its Built for Life coverage. This includes wear, accidental damage, loss and theft, but full replacements have a fee and a two-replacement limit. Older purchases use a narrower defect warranty.
Official Ridge Amazon listings qualify; a generic marketplace result is not enough to establish an authorised seller. Bellroy offers three-year defect coverage and excludes expected wear and overpacking. Keep purchase details and follow each maker’s repair instructions.
What repair and warranty support actually covers
Keep your receipt and send photographs before posting a damaged wallet. Ask whether the proposed remedy is restitching, another repair, replacement or credit, and whether you can retain the original item.

Three years for faults in materials and workmanship under normal use. Expected wear, aging, neglect and unreasonable use are excluded. Bellroy specifically identifies overpacking that strains the stitching.
Contact support with order details, photographs and the problem. A wallet restitching service or fixed paid-repair price was not established; its luggage repair programme is separate.

Ridge Wallet Gunmetal
Eligible purchases from October 14, 2025 have Built for Life cover, including defects, wear, accidents, loss and theft. Full replacements are limited to two and carry processing fees. Older purchases use the narrower Standard Lifetime terms; unauthorised sellers and modifications are excluded.
Defective replacement parts are free. The current full-replacement fee for wallets below $150 is $17.95; fees can change. Check the claim terms for your purchase.

Is Ridge a leather wallet?
The Gunmetal version compared here is anodised aluminium with elastic and screws. It is a rigid alternative to the leather Hide & Seek.
Does Ridge replace lost wallets for free?
Eligible purchases under the current Built for Life programme have limited loss replacement, but full replacements carry a processing fee and are capped at two. Check your purchase date, seller and current fee.
Which one blocks RFID?
Both selected versions list RFID protection. We have not tested blocking performance and do not rank one as superior on that basis.
