Laptop protection changes the comparison
The Synapse 25 does not have an integrated padded laptop compartment. Include a compatible sleeve in your budget and check that your computer, case and sleeve fit together. Attachment points alone are not impact protection.
The GR1 has a separate laptop compartment, but “most 16-inch laptops” is not a promise for every device. Check your actual dimensions and test removal with the bag fully packed.
