Neither reputation nor appearance answers the fit question
Try the Kånken with the books or equipment you carry, rather than choosing it solely for its low empty weight. A bag can be light yet uncomfortable under your particular load.
Conversely, a Farpoint may feel unnecessarily bulky on a crowded commute. Do not buy unused travel volume for a daily routine that only needs a computer and lunch.
Classic and Laptop are different Kånken models
The Classic discussed here has a seat pad and simple straps; it is not the Kånken Laptop range. A sleeve can help protect a device, but also consumes space. Check the computer and sleeve together rather than transferring laptop-size claims from another model.

Is the Kånken Classic suitable for heavy textbooks?

Is the Farpoint 40 a school backpack?
