A lighter bag does not always feel better when full
The Black Hole’s lower empty weight is a clear advantage when your contents are light. With a heavier load, test whether the Farpoint’s hipbelt transfers enough weight off your shoulders to make the larger bag worthwhile.
Pack the same items into each bag and walk, climb stairs and reach for your computer. A short test with an empty display bag does not answer those questions.
Check the generation and size
The current matte Black Hole 32L uses a different fabric specification from older shiny versions. A used listing that says only “Black Hole” is not enough to identify it. Confirm the style number and capacity.
Weather-resistant materials do not make either bag a dry bag. Protect electronics separately when prolonged rain is likely, and keep the airline’s packed size and weight limits in your decision.
